Vantage Foundation partners with KDM Foundation to support street children in Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia, July 3, 2025 -- Vantage Foundation has partnered with KDM Foundation, a Jakarta-based nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless children through education, creativity, and sustainable living, as part of its community contribution activities.

Vantage Foundation Joins Hands with KDM Foundation to Empower Street Children in Jakarta

During a recent visit to the KDM campus, representatives from the Vantage Foundation were welcomed by Sotar Sinaga, a board member of the KDM Foundation. He shared the organization's holistic approach to youth development. KDM goes beyond providing a shelter, offering children a direct and empowering environment where they can discover and grow their potential through various activities such as drawing, handicrafts, soccer, and environmental education.

The visitors also had the opportunity to tour KDM's self-sustaining ecological system, including a small-scale farm raising chickens and catfish, and an organic waste processing system. These activities not only meet practical needs but also teach children about sustainability, responsibility, and self-reliance.

A particularly touching moment was the “Pepe Doll” art project, created in collaboration with local brand Tulisan. The dolls were inspired by the true story of a young girl who roamed the streets in search of food, and all proceeds from their sale are used to support children in need of education and protection through the KDM Foundation.

KDM's activities extend beyond the campus. One of the most effective tools for participation is soccer, which is used not simply as a sport but as a platform for teaching discipline, cooperation, and teamwork. KDM organizes games in the local community to build trust and provide vulnerable youth with a safe space to receive guidance and find purpose.

Sotar Sinaga, a board member of the KDM Foundation, said, “We don't call this activity fundraising; we call it friend-raising. Without friends, we couldn't sustain this school or these life-changing projects. Ultimately, it's the community that keeps us going.”

The Vantage Foundation is proud to partner with the KDM Foundation in providing a brighter future for marginalized children in Indonesia. The joy, resilience, and creativity of the children we witnessed during this visit deeply moved the Vantage team and reaffirmed the importance of providing inclusive support to children in crisis at an early stage.

Steven Xie, Executive Director of the Vantage Foundation, said, “The environment at KDM is filled with hope and opportunity. Every child we met had the spark of potential, and through this partnership, we can help them realize their potential. It is an honor to support KDM's remarkable work and help expand its impact.”

The Vantage Foundation and KDM are going beyond simply building shelters to create a future, confidence, and solidarity. This collaboration marks another meaningful milestone in the Vantage Foundation's journey to raise awareness and bring about lasting change in the community.
