
“National Fitness 100,” a free fitness assessment program supporting healthy lifestyles, introduces a more detailed fitness certification system... Providing more precise diagnostics and customized exercise prescriptions. The “National Fitness 100” program, a nationwide sports welfare service that promotes physical fitness and health through scientific measurement and customized exercise prescriptions, will be relaunched with an enhanced fitness certification system.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ‘National Fitness 100’ is available free of charge at 75 National Fitness Certification Centers nationwide, and anyone aged 4 to 11 years old who is a citizen of the Republic of Korea can participate. Those who wish to participate must bring their ID and make a reservation in advance before visiting. Notably, the physical fitness certification grading system has been refined from three levels to six levels. New grading systems tailored to adults, teenagers, and the elderly have been introduced, enhancing measurement accuracy.
Additionally, the criteria for body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage have been adjusted to align with standards set by the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity. This is expected to enable more citizens to receive precise physical fitness assessments.This grade revision is in accordance with the amendment of the “Regulations on the Standards and Procedures for Physical Fitness Certification Grades” and will take effect on June 2, 2025.
A representative from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, “We hope that everyone can start a healthy life through ‘National Physical Fitness 100,’ which offers free physical fitness measurements, exercise method consultations, and prescriptions.”
