Global warming is a serious issue that makes the Earth’s average temperature rise. Why does global warming happen, and how can we stop it?

Global warming mainly happens because greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide) get trapped in the atmosphere. The gases hold heat and get trapped because of human activity. These activities include burning oil and coal and cutting down trees.

Global warming should be slowed down because it is causing harmful effects on the Earth. For example, many glaciers are melting and natural disasters such as wildfires, droughts, and floods are happening more frequently. Also, it is causing sea levels to rise.

How can we stop global warming? We can plant more trees, walk or ride a bicycle instead of using a car, or even pick up trash for the environment. We should try harder to save the Earth, our one and only home!
