With the goal of fostering media literacy and leadership,  students from Taegang Sahmyook Elementary School (located in Nowon-gu, Seoul) have taken their first steps as junior English reporters, raising their voices to the world as global leaders.

Taegang Sahmyook Elementary School (Principal Park Dae-hoon) and the Korea English Press (Publisher/CEO Cho Jung-in) successfully held the inauguration and appointment ceremony for the 'Korea English Press Junior English Reporter Corps' at the school auditorium on the 8th . This event was organized to help students develop media literacy and linguistic capabilities through experience in reporting and writing English articles, and to help them grow into talented individuals who communicate with the world based on a broad perspective.

A number of officials from both sides attended the event to celebrate the students' meaningful start. From the school side, Principal Park Dae-hoon, Vice Principal Park Ha-eun, Chaplain Park Hyung-hoon, Head of English Department Hwang Hye-young, and English teacher Yoo Mi-sun were present to show their support for the students' challenge. From the organizer, the Korea English Press, Publisher and CEO Cho Jung-in and reporter Jean personally attended to offer their congratulations to the 17-member Junior English Reporter Corps.

 

Principal Park Dae-hoon, who delivered a congratulatory speech, conveyed a message of encouragement, saying, "I hope our student reporters will harbor grand dreams of becoming global leaders," and "I cheer for them to achieve remarkable growth day by day based on the excellent curriculum provided by Taegang Samyuk Elementary School."

CEO Cho Jung-in took the podium and boosted the students' pride by sharing his special connection with the school. CEO Cho expressed deep gratitude for the school's talent development system, stating, "My two sons were also able to grow up properly, currently in their fourth year of university and second year of high school, thanks to the excellent education provided here at Taegang Sahmyook Elementary School." He added, "I hope you all take unwavering pride in your excellent alma mater and wish you success based on the school's teachings," promising, "Our media organization will also wholeheartedly support and cheer for your bright future and activities."

The 17 5th and 6th grade junior reporters, selected through a rigorous screening process, were awarded letters of appointment and press passes, reinforcing their sense of responsibility as junior English reporters and receiving great motivation.

They will serve as official reporters from July 8, 2026, to December 30, 2028, and the vivid articles they personally wrote will be introduced to readers worldwide through the official website of the Korea English Press ( www.kengpress.com ). In addition, the newspaper announced plans to publish a formal book compiling the National English Reporter Competition and outstanding student articles at the end of the year, eliciting an enthusiastic response from the students.
